IFA Mourns Passing of Factoring Veteran George Bryant
George Bryant, a co-founder of the factoring division of Southwest Securities Bank of Dallas, passed away on May 18 at the age of 79 due to heart failure.
Bryant began his career in factoring in the late 1960s when he worked for United Factors, which was a division of United Merchants & Manufacturers. Bryant went on to work for First National Bank and Barclays Commercial. In 1995 he partnered with Ron Beck to co-found the factoring division of Southwest Securities Bank of Dallas as a successor company to First Savings Bank. Beck and Bryant first began working together in 1972.
“He worked for what I would consider the major factors at the time. He was always in a senior management position, either in credit collections or account executive sometimes,” Beck said. “George was an industry professional and from what I can gather was always well thought of.”
