Webster Bank Added Michael Gebicki as Sponsor Finance Senior Originator

Webster Bank has appointed Michael Gebicki as Senior Managing Director in its Sponsor Finance group, where he will focus on sourcing and executing middle-market, private-equity-backed transactions for the bank’s General Industries team. Gebicki will operate out of Stamford, Connecticut, and will report to Ross Catlin, Senior Managing Director of Sponsor Finance.

Gebicki brings more than three decades of experience across origination, underwriting, and capital raising. Before joining Webster Bank, he served as a Managing Director at Sentinel Capital Partners, where he led principal investing within the firm’s junior capital division. His earlier experience includes helping establish the Bank of Ireland U.S. Leveraged Finance group, where he structured senior and junior debt solutions for private equity firms. He began his career in J.P. Morgan Securities’ Media, Technology & Telecom group, working on a variety of capital markets and advisory engagements.

Gebicki holds a BBA in Finance and Economics from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
