TowerCap Provided a $1.7 Million Factoring Facility to a Directional Boring Contractor

TowerCap has provided a new $1.7 million factoring facility to a directional boring contractor serving major telecommunications infrastructure customers. "We chose TowerCap because their knowledge of the telecom infrastructure industry is exceptional," said one of the company's owners. "They understood our customers, how the T1 operators and primes approve invoices and process payments and the working capital pressures we face in the field. We didn't have to explain our industry to them. " The facility provides access to working capital without disrupting the contractor's established customer relationships or payment arrangements.

The contractor works with major telecommunications customers, some of which do not accommodate third-party financing arrangements or instructions to redirect payments to a factor. Conventional notified factoring was therefore not a practical option.

TowerCap structured the facility to accommodate these requirements, allowing the business to finance eligible receivables while continuing to manage customer relationships and collections through its established processes.

Telecommunications infrastructure contractors face particular working capital demands. Labour, fuel and equipment costs must often be met well before customers settle their invoices. These pressures can be amplified by large contracts, customer concentration and the payment procedures of major cable operators.

TowerCap's experience in telecommunications and infrastructure financing allows it to assess these businesses in the context of how they operate, rather than relying solely on conventional underwriting measures. In this transaction, that included understanding the contractor's customer base, receivables, current trading performance and the operational requirements of a confidential facility.

The $1.7 million facility supports the contractor's ongoing project activity while illustrating TowerCap's ability to structure financing around the specific commercial and payment practices of the telecommunications infrastructure sector.
