IFA Officially Forms Southern California Chapter
The International Factoring Association officially formed its Southern California chapter in late December 2020. The official name of the chapter is the SoCal Chapter of the IFA and its mission will be consistent with the IFA’s mission. The new chapter will spread the IFA’s values and benefits to its members and supporters. Interested parties should contact Sarah Kuhns.
The SoCal Chapter of the IFA established sponsorship opportunities to provide financial assistance to further its ability to grow and become a vital group in the Southern California region as well as in Arizona and Nevada. The price for a gold membership is $750 and silver sponsorships will be $350. The IFA’s initial gold and silver sponsors have helped jumpstart the SoCal chapter. Non-direct lenders also are welcome to join the chapter. Benefits for sponsors and members will be available for review on the chapter’s new website, which is scheduled to launch in late January.
The SoCal Chapter of the IFA will hold monthly webinars and virtual chat rooms in addition to joint events with other industry associations. The first event, “A Super Networking Party,” held in conjunction with more than 50 other groups, is scheduled for Jan. 28. Other programs will be held on Feb. 23, March 9, April 22 and May 12.
“The lineup of future webinars will be timely and informative,” Harvey Gross, founder and president of HSG Services and executive director of the SoCal Chapter of the IFA, said.
Virtual chat rooms will aim to assist with networking as social distancing remains in effect. The first virtual chat rooms are scheduled for Feb. 23, March 9 and April 22.
“These sessions will be a beneficial medium to discuss deal flow and current opportunities,” Gross said.
The SoCal Chapter of the IFA will provide an energetic approach as the IFA’s newest chapter. The officers and board members are John Cummings of ACS Factors as president and chairman; Steven Kurtz of Levinson Arshonsky & Kurtz as corporate counsel, secretary and director; Elizabeth Nelson, Esq., as director; Jim Miller of Global Trading Partners as CFO and director; Haze Walker of FSW Funding as director; Gino Clark of White Oak Commercial Finance as director; Maria Contino of Rosenthal & Rosenthal as director; Gross as executive director; and Sarah Kuhns of GMW Management as associate director.
The SoCal Chapter of the IFA was formed to assist industry firms by providing additional training and networking opportunities at the local level. The chapter serves factors, asset-based lenders, other receivables finance companies, purchase order companies, lawyers, accountants and consultants service providers.
