Commercial Finance Partners Launches Tariff Refund Financing Program for U.S. Importers
Boca Raton, FL — Commercial Finance Partners (CFP) today announced the launch of its IEEPA Tariff Refund Financing program, designed to help U.S. importers access the value of their tariff refunds immediately following the Supreme Court's landmark ruling that IEEPA tariffs were unlawfully collected.
The ruling affects over 330,000 U.S. importers who paid duties on goods from China, Canada, Mexico, and other countries since early 2025. While importers are now entitled to refunds from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the timeline for government processing remains uncertain and could take many months — or longer.
CFP's program allows eligible importers to receive 50–60% of their verified refund at closing, with an additional 5–20% released when CBP disburses the refund — giving businesses access to capital that would otherwise be tied up indefinitely waiting on government processing.
"Small and middle-market businesses were hit hardest by these tariffs, and now they're being told to wait — with no clear timeline — for money the court says was never owed," said Darren Palestine, Managing Partner at Commercial Finance Partners. "We built this program so importers can put that capital back to work in their business today, rather than waiting on the government to figure out how and when to pay them back."
The program is open to U.S. importers who are the Importer of Record on their CBP entries and have paid $250,000 or more in IEEPA-related tariff duties. Using a customs broker is common and does not affect eligibility.
